Electromagnetic Device
For my device I choose to do make a Electromagnetic motor. How an electromagnet motor works is you take a copper coil and add current witch creates a magnet, Then you have another magnets around it to make it spin. For my device I have a scaled up modal . So if you look I have an aluminum can mounted on a rod so it can spin freely. On the can I have the copper coil, then on the board and mounted above the can there are neodymium magnets. So when I add current with a battery, the can should spin.
Make Your Own Battery
Project Description:
Our assignment was to research and construct a homemade battery. I choose to do the lemon battery. Now, how the battery works is you take a lemon and push to metals into it then you take a voltage meter and measure the voltage. How it works is the copper is the cathode and the zinc nail is the anode and the lemon juice is the electrolyte. the electron's flow from the cathode to the anode through the lemon juice. That is how a lemon battery works.

Rube Goldberg Project
Project Description: For this interdisciplinary project we challenged to design a Rube Goldberg that had a satirical purpose. Along with another satirical project that related to the Rube Goldberg. Rube Goldberg is a matching that is created to to a simple task.
Project Reflection:
The conservation of energy is the difference between potential and kinetic energy. So an example of potential energy in my RG ( Rube Goldberg) is where the bucket is sitting on the edge of the stick and is about to fall but it hasn't yet. Now an example for the kinetic energy is when the marble is hit by the domino and is rolling down the tube. So that is the conservation of energy not the transfer of energy is different that is when an object hits another and it stops but the other object moves that first object transfers its energy to the other object. Where that is found in my RG is when the marble hits the car and the car falls into the bucket.
Another requirement for our RG is to have the six simple machines. Simple machines are screw, wedge, wheel and axle, lever, incline plane, pulley system. Where they are represented in my RG is for the wheel and axle. I have the car rolling out of the tube and into the bucket which leads to the pulley system. For the incline plane the table is not level and the tube is an inclined plane for the lever we have the stick that the marbles are waiting to be hit and roll onto the table. Now the wedge is what the little bucket is sitting on and for the screw in part three the red funnel is my screw. The second requirement for our RG is to have one of three challenge steps the three we could choose is to have a 360 degree loop, a 720 spiral, and a mystery box. I choose to do the mystery box. So the mystery box is a box that has to keep the moving object in it for 10 seconds. My mystery box is the box with silver paper on it and has the marble track inside it.
I had so much fun designing this project but it did come with some ups and downs. My number one takeaway is that if you step back and look at the bigger picture it is a lot easier to figure something out. My biggest challenge was the black table that the marble followed the dominos. The reason that this was the biggest challenge is because the table has a slight dip in it so when the table was on its own the marble would get stuck in the middle. So after a lot of problem solving I used binders as a wedge and it worked to jack the table up so I could use gravity to my advantage. My greatest strength in this project was being able to adapt and not being stuck to an idea. While making this RB I ran into a lot of problems and so the ability to use different things and modify that step really helped me finish this project.

Physics Photography
In this project we looked at the physics of Photography we looked at how light travels, what is refraction and reflection. those where just a few. For our final project we had to take a photo of one of the topics we studied and present it.
In my photograph you can see a piece of straw that looks like it is cut in half but this is actual refraction. Refraction is when light hits a medium and slightly changes directions. So when the light hits the water the photo offsenters. Another phenomenon of refraction is when you move the object further away from the air and it comes in in the opposite direction. This happens because when light enters the medium of water it slows down.
Project Reflection
In this project I grew a lot, but I also had a lot of strengths going into this project. For example, I really enjoy and am good at photography. So To further my skills and do a project for school, it was a win win.
But it wasn't just easy, there were a lot of challenges as well. As a mini project we made pinhole cameras and were developing photos using a black room, this was also the time we got sent home because of Covid so we had to build them yourself. And this was challenging because my Photos didn’t come out. This was hard for me because I didn’t know what I had done wrong. I didn’t have the materials to redo this and figure out why it didn’t work. Moving forward if I ever do a dark room again I will make sure I have extra materials and I will figure out why it didn’t work.
Through learning all of these great new photogright skills I learned how cameras take photos and because of this the lighting in my photos has gotten better. I also learned a lot about underwater photography because it is light traveling through another medium and so you half to adjust your lighting because that light is moving slower.
I have grown as a scientist because I am more grateful for the scientific method because we learned all of these new ways light travels and you want to capture that but you also half to experiment and chege your hypothesis when you experiment doesn't work.
I feel I did great on this project because I feel like my photo has stretched my abilities of photography but also is professional. It is not out of focus but there is room for improvement. For when I improve my skills.
