Reflection
What are your top values for picking a post-secondary (after high school) school?
My top values for picking a school are academics, and community. The reason academics are first is because in college you are supposed to be furthering your education in a certain subject. And if you are paying thousands of dollars to learn why not get the most out of it. As a community I am a very social person so I like being around people so I want a community that lifts each other up and doesn't look out for only themselves.
What does a “best fit” college or university look like for you?
A best fit college for me is a college where I can excel at learning but also be able to be independent. For example a place where I could learn and if I'm struggling I can get help along with being able to be myself.
What have you learned about how to create a fulfilling career for yourself?
The main thing I have learned about a fulfilling career is balance. Like everything in life you need balance. What I mean by that is having equal time for my friends and family but also my hobbies and studies.
What is one insight, or take away, you have about your own future path based on reading about the paths of others?
I have learned that it is ok not to find the right path right away and also I have learned that people who are doing that makes them happy but doesn't make as much money are usually happier.
As of right now, what are your college and career goals?
As of right now I want to go to CSU and study in their equine science program. But as of this time I'm not quite sure what field of equine studies to go into.
How can you make your choices in high school better aligned with your future goals?
In high school I need to take science classes. But outside of school. I need to work with my own horse to further my learning about horses.
What did you learn about yourself from YouScience?
In my experience of using science it is good to know what you are good at but you don't have the range of career choices that can help me figure out what to do next.
How do you think this knowledge might impact your choice of career?
To wrap this up all of this knowledge has helped me because I have some more Ideas of different fields that I can go into. As Well as more tools to help me get there.
